day6: tranfered day 7!

Retrived from my google +: Juneathon Day 6: Crianlarich where they have proper Scottish bluebells! I ran thru some forest with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Then I ran back for beer! I will add some pics later!

day 7 A hill walk of 2 halves

It started off well. If you don't include my decision to do a longer walk than I had planned. Instead of 4miles I thought 10 would be a good idea. Well it wasn't. Going up was ok, it was definitely on the marshy side but the sun was out (as were the midges) and we made good progress. Got to the first summit fine (didn't know we were doping 2 Munros until this point!). Got to our arranged mountain top at 14:14 - a good 5 hours. By this time we could see the weather coming in. It was litke it was waiting for us. As soon as we started our desent the rain came. I did have waterproofs but my trousers were so heavy I ended up taking them off. Especially as we discovered to go down we basically had to climb halfway up the peak of the first mountain we did. I actually almost cried. The rest of the desent was the same: boggy conditions with driving rain. I swear the return journey seemed twice as long. There was a river crossing which went well on the way up but by the time we got there on the way down we were already very wet and tired and the rocks were much more slippery due to all the rain. So we just decided to wade through. We also had the lovely experience of seeing a dead, decaying sheep on the last leg of the walk. I am now pretty much limping. And to make things worse I have a 5:30am start tomorrow to get back to Edinburgh to do Color Me Rad 5K. Normally I would be "pffffh, that's a warm up" but I am really not looking forward to it. My phone also decided to stop working so this blog is comeing to you via the youth hostel computer, which explains why I have managed a proper blog post!! Wish me luck for tomorrow, I am now away for a very well deserved beer! Stats: distance: 10miles (ish) time: aobut 8hours. Munros conquered: 2 (though it was really practically 2 and a half!) dead sheep encountered:1

Day 5: preparing for the big weekend

Longest run for a long while!! Returned to one of my routine routes - round Holyrood Park. So knee is still behaving itself just now. Which I really hope it continues to do as I have a Munro to climb on Saturuday and a 5km race on Sunday!

Was all excited to get home from my run to start using my fancy new phone (well, fancy for me), only to discover that I need a new sim card. So will be stuck over the weekend still with my shitty broken phone, so again, may only get a short blog which again might disappear into the internet cloud.

Stats!

distance: 3.41miles
time: 35mins21secs

Day 4: exercising patience

Arrrrghhh - google + I hate you! Finally sorted out which account my blogger is set to. A late and feeble attempt at exercise today. None of it my fault obviously! A combination of unbelievably persistent rain, over 90 emails to catch up on at work, a demanding boyfriend with a make up assessment to complete and a few glasses of wine with a meal out all contributed to me only managing my physio exercises (some quite hard leg strengthening ones though!), 10 push ups and 10 sit ups.

It was a good evening though. The highlight of it was turning up to the Indian restaurant in full on 'high fashion' makeup, which took about 2 hours to complete - I am a more patient person than some people believe  I am.I got a few strange looks and a giggle from the waiter in the restaurant :)

Here is a photo of the final look

Day 2: The replacement

I have no idea where my (rather short) blog from yesterday went - I totally blame the rubbishness of my phone and my confusion with google + app.

Anyway...I did my 5km today! YAY! knee injury seems to be definitely seems to be fixed :) Also done a lot of walking, taking in Portobello Road , Hyde Park and the V&A.

Anyway, this is a replacement blog that I PROMISE I did write yesterday!!

Day 3 All Clean at last! and the mystery of the disappearing blog

After 3 days without a shower and living on a boat, I am finally home and clean :) Was a lovely break but I don't think I could live on a canal boat...too small and very basic 'facilities'. Minging is all I can describe my hair after not washing it for 4 days.

This morning before departing I managed a 2 mile jog very dehydrated and on only 4 hours sleep...and it was raining.

Anyway, tired and happy to be home. Trying to find my errant blog 'post' from yesterday - I promise I did do it but due to google+ issues and my rubbish phone, it seems to have disappeared!

day 1 London!!

Day 1 slow start

Well, I'm in a canal boat on holiday in London so running isn't featuring a lot. I did manage 2 miles along from where we were moored in little Venice. Won't be doing a lot as I am still recovering from an injury. A pic of my home until Tuesday featured.
